About the work

Five Fairplay started from a very real problem: I play 5-a-side football with friends and family, and finding new teams to play against is not always easy. I wanted to explore how a digital product could turn that challenge into a simple, social, and engaging experience.

The concept uses a matchmaking interaction inspired by dating apps, where teams discover potential opponents and decide whether to match based on their performance across attack, defense, and goalkeeping. The goal is to make it easier to find teams with a similar playing level while making the discovery process feel more dynamic and fun.

Once two teams match, they can chat and schedule their game. After the match, each team can evaluate the opponent’s attack, defense, and goalkeeping, creating a feedback mechanism that can help improve future matchmaking. I designed the end-to-end product concept and UI experience, exploring the visual language, interaction model, team profiles, matchmaking, messaging, and post-game evaluation.
